A Guide to Your Treatment Options

Acupuncture

A cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine, involves inserting thin, sterile needles at specific body points. These points align with pathways, or meridians, through which Qi, or life energy, flows. Acupuncture’s goal is to rebalance and ensure the proper flow of Qi, offering relief from pain, fostering healing, reducing stress, and addressing a range of physical, mental, and emotional issues.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy uses cups placed on the skin to create suction. Originally, the treatment involved heated glass or bamboo, but modern cupping often uses suction pumps instead. This technique lifts the skin and superficial muscles into the cup, enhancing blood flow, easing muscle tension, and aiding healing. Cups are usually left in place for a few minutes, leaving temporary circular marks on the skin. It’s effective for pain relief, inflammation reduction, and promoting relaxation.

Gua sha

A traditional Chinese technique, involves gently scraping the skin with a smooth-edged instrument to boost circulation, release tension, and promote healing. It stimulates Qi and blood flow to treat pain, inflammation, and muscle stiffness. This practice often results in temporary redness or petechiae (tiny red dots), supporting the body’s natural healing process.

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT)

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT), or cold laser therapy, applies low-power laser light to the body. Unlike surgical high-power lasers, LLLT doesn’t produce heat but is thought to enhance cellular function. It aids tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and alleviates pain by stimulating cell activity. The absorbed light energy triggers reactions that can help heal muscles, joints, nerves, and tissues. Used for musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, wound healing, and tissue regeneration, LLLT is a versatile tool in medical and therapeutic treatments.

What You Need to Know About Acupuncture

Acudash, LLC does not accept insurance. This decision was made to eliminate the hassle of paperwork and the delays caused by waiting for insurance approvals. It allows us to focus more on providing high-quality care directly to our patients without intermediaries.

Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years and has been shown to provide numerous health benefits. Its effectiveness can vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated, but generations of people have found relief from pain, stress, and other ailments through acupuncture.

For in-home treatments, we require dedicated parking, availability for sessions between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., elevator access in multi level homes, and a treatment table. If you do not have a treatment table, Acudash will gladly arrange for one to be delivered to your home free of charge. Tables are shipped to your home before your appointment and come with complete assembly instructions. We will assemble the table for you before the first treatment session if you require assistance.

The time it takes to start seeing results from acupuncture can vary from person to person. However, patients generally begin to notice improvements after 5-7 sessions. Consistent and regular treatment is vital to achieving the best outcomes.

Acupuncture is most effective when treatments are regular and consistent. While any acupuncture is better than none, sporadic sessions may not provide the same level of benefits as a more frequent treatment plan.

Life happens, and we understand that. Acudash, LLC does not charge a cancellation fee as we prioritize the needs and well-being of our patients first and foremost.

Receiving acupuncture in the comfort of your home provides convenience and relaxation that a clinic setting can’t match. It allows you to remain in a space where you feel most comfortable, enhancing the effectiveness of the treatment and contributing to a better overall experience.

Yes, many patients have found acupuncture to be an effective tool for managing stress and anxiety. The treatment balances the body’s energy and promotes a sense of calm and well-being.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles, and while some people may experience a slight sensation upon insertion, the treatment is generally not painful. Most patients find acupuncture to be a relaxing and calming experience.

To prepare for your session, ensure you have a quiet, comfortable space and wear loose-fitting clothing. It’s also beneficial to have a list of any symptoms or issues you’d like to address during the session so your acupuncturist can tailor the treatment to your needs.

We proudly serve a broad geographical triangle extending from Burbank to Beverly Hills, reaching out to Malibu, ensuring a wide range of clients have access to our exceptional acupuncture care. Please note that services requested outside of this defined area or beyond our availability may incur an additional fee of $250 per visit.
